Fall Fundraiser

This committee organizes the annual fall fundraiser for the PTO. The Fall Fundraiser is the biggest fundraising event of the school year. In September, volunteers promote the sale and collect and tabulate orders. In October, they distribute orders for parent pick-up. In the Spring of each year, the committee interviews companies and selects a company's product line for the fundraiser to be scheduled in the upcoming school year.
Box Tops

The PTO participates in the General Mills Box Tops for Education Program. This committee’s volunteers plan a Fall and Spring box top contest to encourage students to collect and bring in box tops to their classrooms. The class submitting the most box tops wins a special party or prize. Final compilation, summarization and submission to General Mills is managed by the committee following each contest. The PTO receives a check for the total value of the submitted box tops and utilizes the funds for PTO sponsored events.
Candy Grams

For Valentine's Day, the students are given the opportunity to give their fellow classmates or teacher a candy gram. This committee purchases items needed, distributes order forms, and delivers the candy grams. (Thank you to Tammi Helka and Jodi Powell for signing up)
Santa Shop

The PTO sponsors a holiday shop for students to make holiday purchases for family members. This committee selects a company to provide merchandise, selects the merchandise to be sold at the shop and coordinates volunteers to assist the students with purchases, wrap purchases and run the cash registers. The shop is open during school hours for two days in December.
PTO Basketball, 1st - 4th grade
PTO Officer Contact:
Organization of 1st grade through 4th grade basketball sponsored by the PTO. Responsible for distribution of basketball registration form, and communication of practice and game times. Also responsible for organization of parent volunteers (to include concessions)
Family Socials (Movie night, Skating Night, etc)

The PTO sponsors family night events throughout the year. These events are wonderful opportunities for families and students to meet and socialize. This committee will plan and coordinate the events and volunteers.
PTO Communications (Website, Facebook, Email)

The PTO has its own web site, Facebook page, and email account. Students and parents can visit http://ogspto.weebly.com to get the latest news, upcoming events, committee descriptions, and contacts for various volunteer opportunities. This committee is responsible for regularly reviewing the PTO web pages, posting news on Facebook, checking the PTO email, and corresponding with the office to include important information on the Friday bulletin.
Oakwood Merchandise

Our sportswear committee offers Oakwood sportswear logo products for Oakwood families to purchase twice a year to show their school pride or gift to others! The committee chooses a vendor and apparel to advertise for sale. Volunteers advertise the sale dates, collect and total orders, and distribute merchandise when it is delivered.
Parent/Teacher Conferences and Teacher/Staff Appreciation

The PTO provides dinner on the Thursday conference evening in October to help teachers survive the day! This committee chooses the dinner, delivers it to the school, and helps during and after the dinner. The teachers and staff are also recognized each year with gifts or what the committee chooses.
Danville Gardens / Monicals Night Fundraisers

Danville Gardens occurs in May and Monical's Night usually happens in April. Proceeds from these programs are used to pay for student activities, programs, and field trips. This committee promotes awareness for these fundraisers.

The concession stand is needed throughout the year for various events. This committee helps to organize volunteers and buy items needed.
